Not-for-profit developmental disability organizations receive 90 percent or more of their funding from government programs. These organizations have seen funding cuts and frozen budget since 2008, and now facing wage mandates and new labor rules without having the adequate funding to sustain them. In June of 2016 the #bFair2DirectCare coalition launched the #300DaystoBetterPay Campaign to call on Albany to address this issue before the next state budget is adopted on April 1, 2017.

A series of news conferences, newspaper editorial board meetings, television and radio interviews letter-writing campaigns are in progress and will continue until April, 2017. For more information or to find out how you can join this effort please visit the bFair2DirectCare facebook page.
